Website, Membership Platform & Member Portal Terms
Effective: 24 September 2026 · Production working policy, subject to registered bye-laws and applicable Nigerian law.
1. Platform role
The website and Member Portal support cooperative membership, records, communications and approved programmes. Obit Technologies Limited provides the core technology infrastructure. The Cooperative remains a separate member-owned legal institution responsible for cooperative governance.
2. Membership
Submitting an application does not itself create active membership. Membership becomes active only after required verification, payments where applicable, review and approval under the registered bye-laws and policies.
3. Digital credentials
A digital Member ID and portal record may evidence current membership status. They do not replace a statutory document where law requires another form.
4. Accounts and security
Members must protect passwords and one-time codes and promptly report suspected compromise. Access may be suspended to protect members, funds, systems or legal compliance.
5. Financial information
Browser screens are not proof that a payment or settlement succeeded. Financial status is confirmed from verified server-side or provider events. Membership does not guarantee a loan, financing, investment return or access to every programme.
6. Third-party regulated services
Licensed financial, KYC or other regulated providers remain responsible for functions requiring their licences or independent professional judgment. Their separate terms may also apply.
7. Acceptable use
Users must not attempt unauthorised access, fraud, identity misuse, system interference, scraping of protected member information or misuse of Cooperative or Obit Technologies intellectual property.
8. Governing documents
If these platform terms conflict with mandatory law or the Society's registered bye-laws, the mandatory law and registered bye-laws prevail for cooperative governance matters.
